CONSERVATION MANAGEMENT PLANS AND STATEMENTS

Castle Rushen, Isle of Man

Castle Rushen, Castletown, is one of the most perfectly preserved medieval castles in Britain, the standing structures dating largely from the 14th-17th centuries. It is now in the care of Manx National Heritage, for whom we produced a comprehensive conservation management plan in 2012-13.

Ripon Cathedral

We produced a detailed Conservation Statement for the grade I listed cathedral in advance of a successful application to the HLF for a major grant by the Dean and Chapter.

Guildford Castle and Museum

Our Conservation Management Plan for Guildford Museum Service provided a detailed analysis and understanding of the 12th-13th century medieval palace and a range of buildings from the 16th - 20th centuries. This provides a framework for the ongoing conservation and development of the existing museum on the site.

The stables at Osterley House, LB Hounslow

A key aim of the Conservation Plan for this building, owned by the National Trust and now dated by dendrochronology to 1566-8, was to understand its original form and complex development. It is the last surviving major building commissioned by Sir Thomas Gresham, builder of the first Royal Exchange.

Bolsover Castle, Derbyshire

We have recently completed a Conservation Management Plan for the site, which is in the care of English Heritage, including a detailed analysis of the 17th century buildings. Paul Drury is currently (2014) writing a new guidebook for Bolsover Castle, for English Heritage.
